3 Day – A Taste of Israel

Day 1: Jerusalem – The Heart of Jewish Heritage
Morning:
Western Wall (Kotel) – Begin your day at the holiest site in Judaism, the Western Wall, where you can participate in or observe prayers.
Western Wall Tunnels – Take a guided tour through the tunnels beneath the Kotel, offering insight into the ancient Temple Mount and its construction.

Midday:
Jewish Quarter of the Old City – Explore the Jewish Quarter’s narrow streets, historical synagogues, and important landmarks, like the Hurva Synagogue.
Davidson Center and Southern Wall Excavations – Visit the Southern Wall Archaeological Park to see ruins from the Second Temple period.

Afternoon:
City of David – Discover one of the most important archaeological sites in Jerusalem, showcasing the remains of ancient Jerusalem during the time of King David.
Yad Vashem – End the day with a visit to Israel’s official Holocaust memorial and museum. It’s a somber, yet crucial part of Jewish history.

Evening:
Machane Yehuda Market – Experience the lively market atmosphere in the evening, with plenty of options for a traditional Israeli dinner.

Day 2: Safed (Tzfat) and the Galilee – Mysticism and Spirituality
Morning:
Drive to Safed – Known as one of the four holy cities in Judaism, Safed is the center of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism).
Ari Ashkenazi Synagogue – Visit this beautiful 16th-century synagogue, associated with Rabbi Isaac Luria (the Ari), one of the great figures in Jewish mysticism.

Midday:
Safed Artists’ Quarter – Wander through the artistic streets, filled with galleries and shops showcasing Jewish art.
Abuhav Synagogue – Another historic synagogue, known for its vibrant, artistic interior and ancient Torah scrolls.

Afternoon:
Tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron – Just outside Safed, visit the tomb of one of Judaism’s most revered sages and the author of the Zohar, a key text in Kabbalah.

Evening:
Dinner in a Local Galilee Restaurant – Enjoy the regional flavors of the Galilee, often inspired by the surrounding nature and agriculture.

Day 3: Masada and the Dead Sea – Ancient Strength and Healing Waters**
Morning:
Masada – Start early with a visit to Masada, an ancient fortress with deep significance in Jewish history. Either hike up the Snake Path or take the cable car to the top, where you can explore King Herod’s palaces and learn about the Jewish rebellion against Rome.

Midday:
Dead Sea – After descending from Masada, relax by floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. This is a unique and rejuvenating experience.

Afternoon:
Qumran Caves (optional)** – If time permits, visit the nearby caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, one of the most important archaeological finds related to Judaism.

Evening:
Return to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv – Conclude your tour with a final dinner in either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, reflecting on your journey through Jewish history.

Additional Notes:
– Consider adding a visit to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, which houses important Jewish artifacts and the Dead Sea Scrolls, if you have time on Day 1.
– For Shabbat (if applicable), you can spend time in Jerusalem’s synagogues and enjoy a traditional Shabbat meal.
